D40 Nikonian

THERE is not much going on at the moment. The only thing possibly worth blogging about is the Nikon D40 DSLR camera purchase.

Here are a couple of pictures taken with it. (More are available on my Flickr photostream.)

The choice of the D40 was influenced mostly by the availability of lenses that are compatible with it. As a matter of fact, I now have three prime lenses (Makinon 135mm f/2.8, Nikon 50mm f/1.8, and Nikkor 50mm f/2) to complement the 18-55 kit lens. The lenses, all of them second-hand, require manual focus and do not allow in-camera metering, so I am shooting old school, using the rings to get subjects in focus and dialing in the exposure with shutter speed, ISO, and aperture settings. Which makes photography more fun in a way.
