Movie marathon
Christmas is the time to indulge in movies
I SPENT most of the Christmas and New Year holidays watching random movies.
-
This is my favourite of the lot. It is a simple love story, yet it makes you feel like falling in love all over again just by watching it.
-
Like 28 Days Later and 12 Monkeys, this movie has a theme that disturbs me a lot — the idea of Man becoming extinct makes me very uneasy — but I enjoyed it nonetheless. And I think the dog deserves an award.
-
This movie is The Sixth Sense, but inside-out. If you have watched it, you will know what I mean.
-
I do not like Mark Wahlberg a lot, but I think he plays good action movies.
-
This is another great romantic comedy with a Christmas feel.
I also enjoyed the older HouseSitter and Rain Man.
It seems I have hit my limit of how many movies I can take: the three Terminator movies are playing back-to-back on TV, yet I cannot be bothered.

I enjoyed Shooter a lot. Then again, I am a big “gun” fan. In 2001, I paid R600 to shoot 2 bullets at “Domaine du chasseur.” My friends and family were making fun of me :-) I am thinking about taking the test for gun license in Canada.

I don’t think you need a license to shoot with a gun. But only need a license to own a gun. I guess you can rent one in a shooting range. Going hunting the caribou up north is something that I might do one day (as well as going to the arctic circle).

Patrick,
Next time we are both in Mauritius, I’ll see if we can make a hunting trip.

@ S
I think it depends on the shooting range. There is one in Waterloo, Ontario, but they require their members to own have their license.
@ Eddy
Can you do that ?
Given my financial situation, I cannot tell whenI will be in Mauritius again. Then again, one never knows. However, I am not a big fan of hunting. Although I’ll eat almost anything, like a true Chinese :-), I cannot do the killing. In a way, I’m a chicken :-)

Patrick,
My brother-in-law offered to take me on a hunt with him now that he has his gun licence, but we just could not find the time. So, I’m sure he’ll be willing for us to accompany him when the opportunity presents.
