There were the big Motorola cellphones in 1994 and even earlier. So, the payphone joke does not fly.

I, too, thought the same thing. But, consider that mobile phones took off very slowly in the US… On the other hand, the SUV model in the background in one scene screamed “not 1994″.
But, not a bad production overall.
