How I read my favourite blogs

THIS screenshot shows how I read the blog feeds that I’m subscribed to.

A few things to note:

  • I use classic Bloglines despite the recent availability of Bloglines Beta. The Playlists feature is great for keeping an eye on my favourite blogs.
  • Mauritius Blog Tracker takes pole position, followed by my other favourite blogs.
  • Google Reader is not my thing. Granted, they have a kick-ass search engine, but for anything else, the competition is almost always better.
  • My other favourite links are on the Links bar. BTW, IE7 rocks!

So, how do you read your favourite blogs?

Eddy.

  1. Ewww, Internet explorer.. You could have at least used a non-microsoft browser, given you’re no-google.

  2. HATING Microsoft is so passé :-)

Seriously, for casual browsing nothing beats IE7.

  3. I use IE for pages using a lot flash. My CPU goes nuts if I use Firefox in that particular situation.

Personally, I think each browser has its advantages and disadvantages. The best browser would be one which combines the best of IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera and others.

What I like (browsers available on Windows):

    IE: Handles flash better
Firefox: How it handles a “Find”
Safari and Opera: How they highlight all the occurences of the keywords of a “Find”
Opera: Opens contextual menu when a word double-click and speed dial

On the Mac, I use Safari and Firefox.
